 Americal Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Certified Professional Coder Exam (CPC)

Students who complete this program will be eligible to pursue the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Certified Professional Coder Exam (CPC) certification exam. However, it is important to note that the AAPC recommends candidates have 6 months to 2 years of hands-on coding experience prior to sitting for the CPC exam.

Students who successfully complete this Sterile Processing Technician Certificate Program may be eligible to sit for the Healthcare Sterile Processing Technician (HSPA) and the National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) national certification exams, provided they meet certain requirements which may include hands on practical experience through either a Clinical Externship and/or Employment Experience. National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) Certification Requirements:
Any student who successfully completed this program either live on-campus or online and are interested in pursuing the NCCT (TS-C) national certification exam must meet the following criteria to achieve certification:

  • Successfully meet all the requirements of the program and be issued a Surgical Technology certificate of completion from edu2 Partner Colleges & Universities.
  • Complete a mandatory externship where you are required to complete 125 surgical cases, as verified by the clinical site using NCCT’s Tech in Surgery-Certified Critical Skill Competency/Qualification by Experience Documentation.   
  • Please review the following resources found on the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) website. The Qualification by Experience and Critical Skill Form (TS-C (NCCT) Critical Skill Comp.pdf) outlines the verification of critical skill competency requirements, and the Tech in Surgery Eligibility Criteria Document (TS-C Route.pdf) details the approved pathways to sit for the TS-C exam. When registering for the NCCT TS-C exam, students who successfully complete this program will qualify under the “Graduate Pathway” as described in the Tech in Surgery Eligibility Criteria Document.

IMPORTANT: The Target Candidate (TC) has approximately 150 hours of instruction and hands-on experience with the product and is familiar with product features and capabilities, as well las relevant career concepts. The TC is generally self-sufficient and able to apply knowledge of document design and production principles to perform basic or routine tasks involved in her or his job role with limited assistance from peers, product documentation, or support services. The TC generally works in collaboration with colleagues or with supervision. Furthermore, the TC will be able to answer most routine conceptual and applied questions about how to use InDesign and usually does not have to refer basic questions to others. He or she can speak credibly to other users or clients about what can be done with InDesign and how to use it effectively.
